Is this wise?, or backward and stupid?

Actually, I think my biggest concern here would be someone smashing the opticell on the lantern - be a huge shame if someone took offence to it, or just decided to damage it for fun. I think if I were going SOX on the front of my house, I'd be using something a little more common (such as a Beta 5) for which a new bowl is still fairly easy to obtain. I think a gen like the Alpha 1 might be better displayed somewhere safe....

Good point, I use to have a complete knobhead 2 doors down from me, that liked to shoot birds out of the sky with an air rifle!, however he never shot out any of the lanterns I had up over the years!
He moved out shortly after being arrested for beating his missus up on Boxing Day one year!
