With the already implemented ban on fluorescent and the impending ban on discharge, I pretty much guarantee you that anything except LED will be gone by the end of the 2020's. Other than the odd lantern that gets forgotten, the odd private install or maybe small parish council without the funds, it's only going to go one way...

As I said on LG, the term ‘lamp bans’ were solely created by lighting enthusiasts on lighting sites ;wh , no lamps have been “banned” rather just phased out of the lighting industry as something more efficient came along, it will be the same with LED within the next 100 years when something supersedes them?
Who knows?, they could develop a plant in the future that glows at night such as the ones in the film Avatar, when electric lights may no longer be needed?
