Lamp voltages and currents

Postby PeterG » Sat Jun 22, 2024 11:41 pm

Anyone happen to know the operating voltage and current of 5ft 65w T8 and T12 fluorescent tubes? Can't find the info and even the holy grail of lamptech doesn't seem to list specs for those lamps - maybe I'm just being daft and missed it though.

According to Osram, their Lumilux 58W T8's run at 110V 0.67A, so I'd imagine a 65W T12 is similar.

Thanks for that. Most useful to know!

No problem :) I'm sure I've got the data for other sizes somewhere too. Mostly the current is stated on the ballast with switch start chokes but the arc voltage is harder to find. Of course you can measure it but probably best to use the stated values for calculations.
