Fluorescent fitting sold with Germicidal tubes

Spotted this on ebay a 4ft twin fluorescent fitting (a B&Q piece of junk at that) being sold with one FSL 36W/840 fitted and one Osram G36T8 tube!

Not exactly great selling that basically as a regular light fitting without much warning of the UV content of the tubes.

Listed as "Neutral white Fluorescent Batten strip light with 2x36W + 1x36W UV-C OSRAM bulbs" the description states:

Comes with & fixing pack and 2x36W High quality OSRAM buls (never used) plus EXTRA bulb OSRAM Germicidal PURITEC UV-C (used only for 30hours) - This UV kills every virus, bacteria, outstanding for sanitation without using chemicals.
This lamp consist of a tubular glass envelope and emit more than 85% of their energy in the UV-C ultra violet radiation with a peak at 253.7nm for germicidal action.
Manual included.

The batten is the perfect low light supporting areas such as a basement, cellar or attic. It provides neutral colour temperature, high intensity brightness and a large beam angle.

Can only hope people heed the 'causes sever skin and eye irritation' on the etch, which is at least visible in the pictures on the listing

Indeed, and if they don't heed that warning then the arc eyes they'll get from it after the first use should cause some concern! The way it is listed makes it sound like you can use it as a general room light and it'll also disinfect the place!
