that's where the druggies and inbreds live. I've never been but as dad puts it the dobermans go around in pairs.

Yeah that's why I live in the opposite corner of the county and have never been there. Gone past it but never in.

Barrow-in-Furness gets a bad name but in reality if you don't look for trouble you won't get any. If you do look for it the you will have it and some areas of Barrow are really nice while others frankly look like the back of the bin wagon.

Couple of places near me like that. I'm my town it's Northbourne and Aaron's Hill. Neither is a place I'd want to live!

So, seems this is not now happening, at least this yr anyway. Apparently they don't yet have a system in place to do it. What, so the new, centrally controlled Harvard Leafnuts system that you can set light levels on at various times, can't cope with 2 switching cycles a day. Bollocks it can't! This is just the council trying to save face after the massive backlash against all the lights going part-night.

Although a lot of SOX stock has gone at Leeds CC has gone for SON and Cosmo (In Iridium / Mini Iridium) respectively. But most of the SON on the outskirts is part time. So far nothing negative has been reported. I'm not sure how much their saving.
The only noticeable LED in use in Leeds is woefully under spec'd sign lighting (pole top inverted J), Belisha beacons (Flashing Corn Cob) or Zebrite halo and Non Flashing LED Corn Cob for refuge globe (Actually look gray at night).
I asked SSC and LCC why they would typically use a single 20 watt LED sign lights spec'd for a junction Give Way signs are used to light a larger map/direction signs.
Turns out the requirement is some signs just have to be lit - just doesn't say how well.
