Hi all,
What do you use to lubricate the twist-to-lock lamp holders on fluorescent fittings?
I'm thinking WD40 would work as it shouldn't attack the plastic and is quite thin so shouldn't cause any electrical contact problems?
I ask as I've acquired three GEC Speedpack's recently and the lamp holders are super flakey! Twisting the lamps in feels like something is going to break

Probably a silicone based lubricant would be fine?

Re: Lubricating twist type lamp holders?
I do have some silicone grease that I believe should be ok with plastics but I wasn't sure if it could cause electrical contact issues?
At work I've had to force some tubes into Crompacks that we have, and the black plastic bit in the middle of the lamp holder usually breaks up and falls out lol. I want to keep the Speedpacks in good condition if possible! I'm even thinking about respraying them (might never happen lol)

As its a plastic to plastic `cam`, can it even be lubricated?

I sprayed them with a small amount of WD40, used the plastic straw (that one you always lose!) to make sure only the twisty bit of the lamp holder was sprayed. The tubes twist in and out perfectly now.
