Tabelec 'LEL Multipulse' Starters

Postby Slyspark » Wed May 02, 2018 12:46 am

These are what I'm using atm, seem very good and a decent price. Currently (including postage) about £2.50 each, but I'm gonna see what they might do a bulk order of a couple of hundred for.

Might get a couple for the twin 100w 8ft in the garage. EFS600’s really didn’t like it when I tried them.

Newer EFS600's will work fine Mark. These LEL's will do the job nicely also, I've got four LEL's in regular use and loads of EFS600's and haven't had any issues so far.

Just installed mine today. The work a treat! Nice preheat and then ignition. Quite happy tbh.

Not sure on thyristor, but this is the inside of one put in a metal can starter:

Its not them making them in 4p metal cans ???

The thyristor in the pic looks like an STI tn22, that's the same as used in many other electronic starters and in some batches of Perfect Start ballasts (the rest use Y1112 that i think was discontinued)

No, that was me. I was using it with an old fixture that was being started regularly.

Good to see a series twin version, these are getting rare now since Thorn stopped doing the Fluropulce.
