The ballast in this plastic UV black light has melted and deformed the plastic. If it was installed on a ceiling it could drip hot plastic.

To be fair I’d say that is more this badly made cheap ass fitting rather than the ballast.

I'd have to agree with Kev, a stupid material to make any fitting from which contains a magnetic ballast.... Probably has some nasty Chinese gear in it too, but a pretty stupid material choice. A bit like those shit Fern Howard 2-D fittings.
