Sadly the Chinese have so much cash laying around it only makes commercial scene to buy the opposition out.

Hopefully there will be some clause in the contract of sale that prevents the existing factories from being shut down for a set amount of time to protect the workers ect.

I hope not! But you never know. Unlike most Chinese though, they seem rather more committed to not only keeping, but further expanding local manufacturing for each global region. In Europe it's already been announced to invest in local production with the opening of a vast new LED Luminaires factory of 60,000 sq.m. Building is about to start directly beside the TGV station in Meuse, north of France. Beside the factory will be an 18-floor tower for the laboratories, offices and lighting showrooms. Costing €100 million, it has been a few decades since any of the main lighting companies made such vast investment in new European facilities.
