So, I popped into my local wholesaler the other day to pick up some 5' single Thorn Pop-Packs. Something they have always kept on the shelf before.
Wholesaler: 'I'm sorry, we don't sell those any more, they all got sent back to the depot'
Me: 'Well, can you order me some in please?'
Wholesaler: 'No, sorry, we're trying to encourage our customers to go green, so we'll only be selling LED products from now on'
Me: 'Is this a joke? So, you don't now even sell fluorescent tubes or discharge lamps?'
Wholesaler: 'Yes, that's correct, why don'y you buy one of our LED battens?'
Me: 'I'm now going to be really environmentally unfriendly and drive 12 miles to Rexel, where I'll buy a 5' Crompack'
Wholesaler: 'Oh, I doubt they sell those any more and they'll be really expensive if they do'
Me: 'Actually, they still do and they sell them for less than the Pop-Packs you sold - better fittings too, so I'll go get one there. Whilst I'm at it, I'll get all the other stuff I was going to get from you, might as well have it all on the same ticket'
Wholesaler: Gives me a dirty look as I leave
Tossers......

I can't say I'm entirely surprised. What they actually mean is that there's more profit for them in LED fittings you can't service or repair and have to keep on buying, every time one fails. I mean, who wants to sell stuff you can fix?

Just about every relevant manufacturer in the world seems to be pushing for an LED lighting monopoly.
The fact even local wholesalers are in on the scam is frightening to me.
God only knows what the LEDbus cartel have planned for the future!

If that salesman said that and forced me to buy LED, I'll give him a shoe whacking and storm out!!!
