Generic lamps are not that bad?, even Big Clive was surprised by the quality build in the ‘pound shop’ LED he stripped recently to what they were 10 years ago!
Most of my CFL are either Genies or Morrisons supermarket ones (built by GE), but even the cost cut Genie were good lamps in service

My mother had Hyundai, Leelite and Sunlight CFLs burning base-up in her chandelier, which burned their ballasts.

That’s interesting as it’s something I haven’t yet seen?, the only CFL I have ever seen to cook it’s gear was one of them RX7 halogen replacements that was locked inside a 500 watt halogen fitting on my brother in law’s house!
