I recall hearing that somewhere too, the one further down on the article definitely had some light source from one end, though the one in the first picture does still look fluorescent lit?
I wonder if any are still installed with their original gear still in place, I imagine they would have been quite a sight with their original 4x 80W BC tubes lit up!
