This video is worth a watch IMHO. I don't know how factually accurate the information given really is, but the guy seems to know his stuff and has done his research.
It raises some good points like why the use of high colour temperatures, and the much talked about issue of 'blue light' etc.

Yeah, I’ve seen this one before, apparently they used pure blue street lighting in Edinburgh and it halved the crime for some reason???

People don't stay long under such light, so there is less opportunity to do crime against them....
