Ballast melted casing (Choice of plastic)

Put anything here that's badly designed/made, failed, catastrophically exploded or just an epic fail in a general sort of way.

Ballast melted casing (Choice of plastic)

Postby Oliver » Wed Dec 26, 2018 10:01 pm

The ballast in this plastic UV black light has melted and deformed the plastic. If it was installed on a ceiling it could drip hot plastic.

To be fair I’d say that is more this badly made cheap ass fitting rather than the ballast.

I'd have to agree with Kev, a stupid material to make any fitting from which contains a magnetic ballast.... Probably has some nasty Chinese gear in it too, but a pretty stupid material choice. A bit like those shit Fern Howard 2-D fittings.
Bad choices make good stories!

Yeah, that's what I meant. The choice of plastic is not suitable.
