Does anyone here use safety starters?
Does anyone use safety starters? They work by cutting out when the starter gets too warm from being used with an eol tube. They are quite good at protecting the ballast.

Yeh I’ve used these before in the mid 00s when you could still get them. Think they are long gone now sadly

I pretty much only use electronic starters, which do the same job and more.

I did actually buy one in Homebase less than 2 years ago. I haven’t seen them for a while though.Yeh I’ve used these before in the mid 00s when you could still get them. Think they are long gone now sadly

They were available here in the early 00's, in only one hardware shop chain for outrageous prices (common in that chain store with all sorts of products), so not many bought them
Most Switchstart lights at the ELTAM factory used them, and i got many along with fittings that were installed in equipment

Never used one, but I remember Osram-GEC having one out with a little red reset button on it, not a bad idea really, however, switch start is practically nonexistent here now, apart from what is already installed.

Nice to know I’m not the only one who prefers the old starters to pulse starters. I like turning my lights on and getting a satisfying “ping” when they start.Yes. I have loads. Id use these over pulse starters for sure.
