Stores lighting??

So we`re re-vamping our stores, and me and Ken had a discussion this morning about lighting.
When its done, there will be 4 sets of racking with a metre distance between them, and 10 foot long bays, lighting the bays, Ken suggests LED, stores boss Tim suggests down lights, but I suggest 2, 4 foot singles in HF down each bay, as Tim dosen`t want it blinding, but just enough to see on the shelves.

What do you reckon, I like my idea best!!

I'd go fluorescent, but switch-start fittings with electronic starters....

SS is too dear to buy here now, its cheaper to buy HF!!, the price of SS have been hiked the same as 8 foots and SOX, to try and stop people buying them!!

Yeah, Electric Centre!, I want 4 foots over LED, or any other, as we have about 10 boxes of new 4 foot tubes in 835 and 840 in our spares stock.

I'd still go for SS over HF

Have to agree with Kev here, switch-start is the best option by far. If you can't get em from your usual supplier, time to try somewhere else!

In my tunnels at the weekend I fitted the lights in the number 6, 2 of the lights had no ballasts as I had removed them it took a brand new ballast and 2 second hand ones to get a good working one!

Well we`re almost done in here, I`m going for a total of 12 four foot twins, (3 in each isle), on 2 circuits of 6, we`ve just got to wait for the fire guys who are re-wiring the fire system, with new smoke detectors and call points, then we can start to board the ceiling up.
We have 3 crappy LED battens lashed up at the minute but the stores is like a dark tunnel in places!
With 24 36watt 840 Philips TLD masters, we will get a nice 82,800 lumen level when finished.
