The worst quality fluorescent starter you've ever seen?

Postby Danny » Tue May 03, 2016 11:15 am

Just looking on EBay through the fluorescent light starters for sale, with all the junk that is for sale on there in that section it made me think of this topic. What has to be the Worst quality fluorescent starter that you have seen either in person or elsewhere?

My worst ever seen has to be the ones Branded SUPERIOR that my local high street DIY shop used to sell, the canisters on those were able to be crushed with my fingers with them being paper thin!!

Powerstart, they are so small they rattle around in the sockets.

This is what happens to Eagle & Criterion starters. These were in a fitting at work. They often destroy the holder as well.

FG. Got one in the garage which for 50% of start ups will burn the electrodes for 10 secs before releasing and allowing the tube to light. It always takes quite a few attempts to strike as well. It's original to the fitting and its always behaved like this.

I've seen chinky chonky starters that turn to dust when you try and remove them! The shittest quality plastic ever especially after UV exposure!
