Youl could buy a new reproduction one for less, which will be in perfect condition. That one doesnlt look Victorian... And I guess someone has just shoved a SOX lamp in a lantern designed for a GLS lamp

honestly, if that thing is made of real copper sheets and not just some copper coated steel i don tfind it to bad, when i think what i have paid for some fucked early east german lanterns...

Street lighting in general has gone through the roof on ebay lately, seen once common lanterns you were able to get for ~£20 10 years ago but for the £80-100+ mark now!

There was a village in Northamptonshire that had simliar lamterns running SOX like this.

That was near where my ex parents used to live I remember seeing them. I agree with Alex if this is genuine copper it is worth it a new piece of Perspex and a SON / CDO conversion and it will be great lamp holder looks too high for it to be genuine SOX

pretty sure these were plain GLS at some point and they just didi a stupid retrofit...
