Was thinking about what mine were last night for me the favourite to the least favourite would be this...
SOX LPS / SLI
FLUORESCENT
SON
MERCURY
COSMO
HALIDE
GLS
HALOGEN
LED
INDUCTION
SOX LPS I think they are just fascinating, the way they warm up, you can see everything They just look beautiful when warming up
Fluorescent I've always loved. Always loved that flashing on
Son I've always liked too used to be the cycling but I also like well hammered but healthy lamps
Mercury has always been a bit boring for me although I do like it especially clear mercurys and pearl ones. Plus their amazing life time in some cases
Used to hate Cosmo but I've grown to like it as I find the lamps & technology awesome
Not really a fan of halide I do like the CMH / Streetwise lamps but not a QMH fan
GLS / filament lamps I like some like the old style ones, not too old maybe 60s to present but hate others
About the only halogens I like are the 12v ones can't stand those halogen capsule GLS or GU10
LED I hate as street lighting and fluorescent tubes but I find the tech of it interesting. Wouldn't use it personally unless I was doing experimenting
Induction I've never been interested in to be honest.
What's yours?
Your favourite light source from favourite to least favourite? And why.

Fluorescent
Mercury
SOX
LED is my least favorite for general lighting. Don't mind LEDs for clock displays and the like.

SON, best design, best colour, trouble free, fast run up, long life! thank you America!
MBF, tried and tested, simple, white, longlife, fit and forget, (for a few years at least)!
LED, as Danny says, SMT diode versions are total crap for road lighting, but the filament lamps are superb!, my entire house is now LED filament, (with the exception of the 2Ds).
SOX, I grew up with these, they played a huge part in my interest in lighting, however the older I get, the more I`m starting to hate the colour.
MBI, an upgrade to the mercury lamp, athough they don`t like voltage spikes/drops, the range of colours are good though.
INDUCTION/CFLs, Posh MCFAs at the end of the day, but fluorescent is fluorescent, and the CFLs day has been and gone.
MCFA, again I grew up with fluorescent, I had quite an interest when I was a nipper, but they somewhat totally bore me now!, great for factory lighting, but awful in the home with todays tech.
GLS/Halogens, Ok for a quick switch on, and switch off, but thats about it for me!

Yeah, when I say `todays tech`, I mean lamp wise.
Why have the coldness of fluorescent with its UV, in the home environment, when the colour from LED filament lamps, (or halogens for those still running them), is a much better alternative?
Even using the warmest of warm fluorescent tri-phosphors, you still can`t escape that cold ambiance from their UV output.
