It's official, the dreaded LED stret lighting 'upgrade' is coming to North Lincs! This is sad news as North Lincs is mostly SOX & SON still.
It's reportedly costing £6m with £500k energy savings per year. That's a 12 year payback period, will they last that long?

I'm not sure. In all honesty I couldn't name most of what's up there now, street lighting isn't my forte. I'll let you know if I find out what's being fitted

Its a shame they never used the Unistreets here. The 32w are really good. Although i rathe theyd leave everything alone though

Unless you use a good led lantern they are dim patchey and horrid they also colour shift and drop in lumens over a couple years. The DWW kiriums that davy fitted at chiverton cross were a natural white colour when they first went in 2014 late now after only 3 years are more of a warm white colour lol not only that but if they part nighted or used some kind of CMS NEMA node thing they could of made better more accurate use of the existing lanterns part nighting areas that aren't needed etc.

The new mersey gateway bridge that has just opened is LED lit and I would say over illuminated with a very harsh light. (And overpriced as well with its toll but that's another issue). Funnily none of the overhead signs are illuminated, perhaps they think there is enough light from the road lights but there isn't, the signs are not easy to see.
