Tamlite 50w SON bulkhead

Picked a couple of these up at a car boot sale at the weekend for a quid! They're 1995 vintage Tamlite 50w SON Bulkheads, the covers are mising on both and they have a few holes drilled in them and some rust etc. I only really got them to pillage spares from, especially their 50w SON ballasts which I didn't have any of before.

Anybody know anything about these? They look quite good quality and I'd like to know what they are and what type of covers they would have had etc.

The Philips lamp is this one. It's had a good run today, possibly for the first time since it was manufactured circa 23 years ago.

My not so local carboot is possibly one of the biggest in the counrtry, in the warmer months when it's busier I can easily spend 4 hours walking around it all. Hence, I usually find at least one thing of interest, but not always... I can sometimes go for 4 weeks in a row and see much of the same stuff and buy nothing, but then the week after come away with loads of interesing stuff

Don't even have any car boot sales around here!

None at all Rich? The one I go to is about a 45 minute drive away, so not really local lol! There is one closer (about 20 minutes) but it's usualy pants

car boot central round by me, but both rarely come up with decent stuff. Last decent things I had from them was about 3 years ago now.

Nah, anywhere they used to do one has been built on. Land here is too valuable to do anything other than build expensive homes that no-one can afford on!

Well you will live in that weird economy 'daarn saaarf' London-ish area Laughing

Question is, do Tamlite still do replacement bowls for this?

It's a good question, and one which I may never know the answer to, as I've stripped this and binned it Smile

Always worth a look IMO, you never know what you're going to stumble across
