Full quality of a full size fitting but for the T5 miniatures. Are there any good 8W 12V inverter/ballasts in existence? Be good to put one of these in a van.

Not sure. All the ones I know are 24v. Those 12v Labcraft and Lumo caravan ones aren't too good.
