Well i noticed today ones of these had a failed lampholder as the lamp was on the bottom. On closer inspection however, it appears that the glass tube has parted company from the lamp base! UK made Sylvania too. Still works though lol.

I've seen that happen on lamps. It seems that sometimes the glue looses it's stick!

Seen it a lot with high power lamps in enclosed luminaires, or even in open recessed cans when left EOL for too long

Or, to give it it's correct name - lamp cap adhesive. I have a pot of it here and use it to re-cap tubes. You don't want to know what it's made of however! lol
