I've got the Atlas 5' single version of this (also missing it's coverplate). Mine is switch-start too!

My 4' and 5' Atlas Atlantic 1's are both switch start. Is this definitely called an Atlantic? I had it in my mind these were named something different

I think this could be an Ekco Essex!

Gonna be honest when it comes to fluorescent lighting I'm nowhere near as clued up on it in the way I am with lanterns. Can't say I've ever heard of an Ecko Essex before like.

Think you might be right, the names and designs tended to very between Ekco and Atlas products. This seems to be a variation on the design of the Atlantic 1...

If this can be compared to what we got here - Some manufacturers have very characteristic design features that you can tell by. This applies mostly to Gaash. Some other fairly big manufacturers you know to tell from experience. But the small and obscure ones you might recognize but not know the identification....
