Thorn 55w Alpha 1 SOX lantern
I absolutely love this fixture! It's on my enquiry/saves list that I might chase up later this year if I can be bothered. Mind you, I've been thinking about saving various street lights, both council and privately owned, for ages (2018). Hopefully I can put some of my plan into action this year once things get better.

id say by the dirt on the bottom it dont work and hasnt for a long time, looks like a 55w sox version as the tube dont fill the lantern like the 90w one does

Surprisingly it does work, as I saw it dayburning a couple of years ago! Must be switched from inside the building as I don't see a photocell, the lamp looked to be an old rounded-end SOX lamp too!

its a thorn one as its got the thorn clip on the bottom, the atlas ones had a turn screw instead of the clip and are mega rare. the later thorn ones have a pair of 5 mm allen grubscrews at the bottom that genrally come undone, older ones had 3 grub screws 3/16ths imperial and corrode solid normally, ones at the top so allways corrodes up
