I first obtained this lantern June 2012, and its condition was nothing short of abysmal. The plastic bowl was split in half, and was so yellowed the plastic was literally delaminating. The canopy was drilled, internally the lamp holder and lamp was smashed, the drip tray was bent and loose, as was the lamp holder bridge, and the reflector was missing. I straightened everything out, filled the hole in and then restored it as best I could, however owing to its terribly incomplete form, it was just thrown in the corner of the shed and pretty much forgotten about.
Fast forward to 2014, I was given a box of ballasts, and within that box was a reflector plate for this lantern, so it was immediately cleaned and installed. A further two years would pass when I was given an elusive glass bowl, minus the gasket. 2017, I found a gasket and lamp holder, meaning the lantern was now finally complete, however one thing still bothered me – The missing refractor ring.
Last week, I finally was able to find a ring for the lantern and was immediately cleaned and fitted, finally bringing an end to what has to have been the longest and most drawn out parts search I've done to date. The ring in particular is made by Relite, and is far more squarer than that of the Revo ring, however I quite prefer this one since the lanterns quite square anyway, so fits in a bit better with the overall design.
