No no there was a photo of some 600X600 fittings that took these but had 1 18W jammed in at an angle we knew they took the W lamp but no one had seen one?

I have two - another Bull Electrical special from the 90s. How I've missed that company since the passing of old Mr. Bull. (I saw an 8' 125W BC tube in regular use there over the till in the Aladdin's cave. It was powered by a 125W mercury vapour choke. I nearly wet myself.)

RobTDCI   [21 Oct, 2015 at 01:40 PM]
What an find, would have to make a fitting for it if it was mine.
Andy   [21 Oct, 2015 at 08:03 PM]
Wow Nick! You keep pulling them out of the bag! Shocked
BC5-80   [21 Oct, 2015 at 10:33 PM]
Rob I had plans to make a fitting a long time ago; even made some sketches, which I still have with the tube and gear. It's so old it's faded and the paper's turned brown now. Shocked
RobTDCI   [21 Oct, 2015 at 10:40 PM]
Yeah, it can be time consuming to make a fitting properly. I have to be in the right mood to do it myself, though its easier now I have a shed fitted out as a small workshop to work in.

The thought of sheet steel bending with only a vice, blocks of wood and a hammer put me off.
Danny   [22 Oct, 2015 at 12:52 AM]
Just get a normal maybe blown hf 2ft modular from somewhere strip it, stick the correct ballast in an a few terry clips and bobs your uncle
SuperSix   [22 Oct, 2015 at 06:53 PM]
How amazing. Would look quite good standing up I reckon. Maybe an existing enclosure like the ones the crompton battery packs come in could be modded to house the gear. With two holes in the lid for the lampholders and a terry clip at the bend? Could make an interesting table lamp!
RobTDCI   [22 Oct, 2015 at 11:15 PM]
I use sheet aluminium for my builds as its softer than steel and bend it a workmate type bench. The results aren't perfect but will do for something hand made.

With something as beautiful as this it needs to be naked, on full view. It is a bit large and vulnerable for a table lamp but some sort of ceiling sculpture would be good. Owing to its limited light output it would only be good for moderately lit upstairs rooms, landing or TV lounge. If more serious lighting is required it would have to be supplemented by further linear or even circular tubes. The mind boggles at what tubeage could be intertwined in a fluorescent embrace.

The W on LG belongs to someone else, lol, I think your memory may be of me drooling over it tho!
