Nice little dichroic halogen fitting in a hotel room

I have now driven through France and am staying in a slightly dated-looking hotel near the French border. Although 95% of the hotel lamps are LED (as have pretty much all others during the trip) the entrance to my room has this nice old fitting for 12v dichroic halogen reflectors. Complete with discolouration it's a throwback to the 1980s or early '90s (and reminds me of many hotel stays during my childhood!)
