UC 40w T12 in action I decided to light this so i could get a few shots of it working. The quality that went into these old tubes ensured a extremely long life in comparison to tubes of today. The fitting i used is the MK1 GEC Europa i found in the gutter of the road. It dates to 1966, so it's 7 years younger than the tube, which dates to 1959. (the wheel trim in the background came off a LDV Sherpa van, part of my other hobby of wheel trims.)

Ive got one of these old GEC fittings, i didnt know it was a MK1 Europa though ! The coal board used loads of these in coal mine buildings, mine came from a pit that was demolished in the late 80's
