Home brew Mini Egg crate  6w fitting
There have been a few 50s style fittings with egg crate diffusers posted recently so it got me thinking how I could make a fitting based on those fittings. The egg crate is what can be used in fish aquariums with white sign perspex welded to make up the sides. The rest of the fitting is made up by bending sheet aluminium. The ballast is Smart and Brown, probably 70s. The first ballast I ever owned when I was 9 is one of these.

I really like that a lot! How is the acrylic cement holding? Especially with the heat, I've been wondering how good that stuff is.

It's holding up better than I thought, I left this over night clamped in my foldable bench to be sure. I wouldn't like to subject it to excessive amounts of abuse but it seems fine under normal use, I've got another diffuser I made like this which has been holding up fine now for 3 years. I've just used a tube of Marley solvent weld used in plastic plumbing.
