Always found these ones quite interesting, essentially a stretched version of the 9-15W ones using the same sized base rather than a wider one as most used with their 20W CFL's Smile

Oh yes, this must be some way of cost saving production method that GE did when transitioning to Chinese manufacturing instead of making dedicated wider ballast housing for 20W CFLS - also I think it was to make it easier to install into tight incandescent fittings due to reducing the size of the ballast housing Smile

Yeah probably cheaper to use all the same ballast housings, I think the Hungarian ones used the usual larger sizes for the bigger wattages?

These are made by GE by the look of it?
Beta 5   [04 Aug, 2024 at 07:53 PM]
I believe so yes

@Beta 5: Yes that's right they did use the larger ballast housings for when GE was making them in Hungary Smile @Danny: Spot on! GE made bulbs for the TESCO own brand range - you can see that the manufacturing codes are GE style alongside with the identical shape and design of the bulbs Cool

Ah yes I forgot about the codes too, you can often tell a GE product from those Cool

I often pay close attention to the style of the codes and even the etch style - sometimes a shop own brand or whatever, for example if I see dots then it defo means Thorn. I got a CO - OP branded bulb which had a h### code which is for OSRAM Smile
