Revo C8873 Magnalite and B27 bracket before restoration
The grey paint shown here is a horrible heat proof stuff, meaning its harder to strip with paint strippers. Luckily it was only the wings that required this treatment. The rest got the heat gun and wire brush treatment.

The Magnalite is certainly an interesting old lantern, the one piece glass is so crazy delicate, I'm honestly surprised I didn't damage it during restoration.

have you got or seen one of the magnalites where the wings are just glass in a metal framework? there were some round cane hill hospital years back, the silvering came off and you could see right though the curved glass panels !

I have seen those, I know of one installed on private land still working come to think of it. I think they were known as Skeleton Magnalites if memory serves me correctly.
