1990's Shaw made Osram SON-T 1000W/220V ful power

The general electric company of England pioneered high pressure sodium lamp technology in europa having launched by 1969 an extensive portfolio of these lamps in 310W, 400W, 600W(400V) and 1000W (600V). By the same time Osram of Germany only offered its NAV-T 400W lamp. In the following years the protfolio of GEC was further expanded and eventually a 600W 220V and a 1000W 220V lamp were also added.

By the late 1980's the shape of these lamps changed from the old tubular bottle shape to the tubular shape shown here. Eventually after the closure of shaw this shape would reappear in the 2010's and 2020's with lamps sourced from China.

Osram of Germany Sourced its 1000W SON lamps from shaw in the 1990's until that plant was shut down in 2000. After that these lamps were sourced by Narva Berlin and china.
