Classic early 1990's Dichroic halogen fitting
I installed this (heavy, it has a huge 12v transformer within) beast in our spare bedroom today - I had been meaning to replace the old naff lamp we had there for many years, and only just got round to it. I saved this fitting from one of my Spanish relatives who completely remodeled their house recently, and was going to throw this away. Brass-effect light fitting and dichroic halogens are a match made in late '80s/early '90s aesthetic heaven! One of the lamps is EOL, I will replace it soon!

The colours from the dichroic halagens were beautiful Very Happy, it’s a shame most of the lamps were sometimes hidden in certain fittings?, but they worked best in these!

Indeed! I've always loved dichroic lamps for this reason, it's a shame many fittings didn't take advantage of that.

These take me back to the early 2000s when we had GU10 halogens in the kitchen.. Although ours were GU10 and shit i remember the lamps my parents got had no 'back colored' tint to them when they got a pack of 2 GU10's where the back bit on one would shine a red tint and the other a purple tint i loved that

One thing i liked about the 12v Halogens like this is when the lamp went out i would just flick the lamp and it would come on and work again for a short while.. I remember in school over one of the display boards there was a track light with 12 of these 12v Halogens in and every one was out until i went past them all and flicked them and they all came on one by one as i flicked each lamp lol
