Possibly an ex Ma/V fitting? This just looks old to me. It has a mercury lamp in at the moment but the wooden gearbox has my attention.

Interesting fitting is very old but I notice it has a KLIK rose on the gear box

I did notice that, the place could have been rewired without replacing the lights possibly?

Yes more than likely as it would be originally been wired in VIR

It's a charity owned building so I suspect it won't get changed for some time. And I do know this light does actually work.

Good glad to hear it! If it's not broke don't fix it. Rubber wiring was not very good after 40-50 years of service mind
