I can still remember when the school corridors were lit by these and the main hall was lit with 300w and 500w GLS lamps. God I'm getting old!

My old school hall was lit by big massive recessed fittings with 500w GLS in them. They had big circular translucent louvres and were right out of the 1960's.

My school drama hall had something similar though the louvres were removed at some point. It was built in 1972, the rest of the building being lit by single pop packs with prismatic diffusers.

I was a little later... 6 and 8 ft Twin pop packs for my school - a lot of chain suspended stuff

We had lines of PP125's with the continuous diffuser kits fitted in most of the classrooms with big PAR lamps on the wall displays Smile

When everybody was quiet and busy copying out of textbooks etc, you could all of the chokes humming away gently Smile

These take me back. Our classrooms were lit by 150w ES and the main hall was also lit by 500w Gls in enclosed opal glass fittings on chains.
