New garage lights finished :-)
Previously had a mix of 49w HO T5's and 58w T8's fitted, all HF, all from one pull cord switch and all crap!

All three bays are now individually switched from proper switches and each fitting is on a plug & socket and hung from standard 605mm spaced hooks so I can change them quickly and easily.

Currently using 6x 5ft fittings, two old 1970's Crompack's, an older Thorn pop-pack and three newer pop-pack's. All are switch start and all are fitted with Arlen Pulse Starters.

I do have some other fittings including some SRS geared, once they've been cleaned up they'll replaced the newer pop-packs.

All tubes are T12 535, currently a mix of Philips/Osram and GE, all were rescued from an abandoned recycling bin I'm currently in the process of emptying ;-) All fittings are skip rescues also (apart from the LED)

The LED? That's on a separate switch. I've fitted a 3 gang switch for the fluorescents and one of them massive 1 gang MK switches for the LED

Thanks Danny, to be honest it's not the best garage though as it's been very poorly built by the previous owner on the worst concrete slab you've ever seen. The original wiring was a death trap too!! And it's damp in winter months, some mint fittings I've rescued have gone rusty in here Sad I'm in talks with the better half about getting a proper barn built at the minute, 60ft x 40ft! Shocked Shocked Shocked I could use ALL my fittings in there! lol

Yeah it would be good. Would also give us somewhere to store furniture etc during house renovations

The sockets in the roof line are a good idea, I`ve only ever seen this in the Pickering show ground main hall in North Yorkshire, where they has a twin gang socket at each 400watt high bay.

Had the first tube failure today, the one on the far right in the picture fitted in the Crompack. It was a Philips manufactured Osram 65w/535, a newer one that has the rectangular insert around the pins rather than the round one. It had lost emission so would just flash on a glow bottle starter. Shame as it was still nice & bright Sad
