Transtrip 12v 8w Miniture Fluorescent Fixture
Rescued recently from a scrap caravan & is dated 20th June 1984.

This is a quite a smart little fixture that looks like someone's shrunk a standard batten with diffuser!

Shame these 12v fixtures are pure crap, the tube is considerably under-driven and has no preheating, these band up tubes very quickly and kill them completely in no time.

It is a shame the driver circuit in these are often so crap, I have a 15w invertec fitting which is designed for buses and is a good quality unit, it preheats the tube and seems to drive it at full brightness.

Bloody hell these take me back! We used to have loads of these in our caravan that we used to rock around in during the 80's and 90's for holiday. Caravan was vintage 1969 c/w psychedelic patterned curtains and upholstery! Smile
