Does the quickstart unit strike 15w T8's ok?

It does actually

New ones, or aged? I've found quickstart and SRS will strike brand new T8's for a little bit, but then soon revert to glowing at the ends only.

Well it a short lamp around 55 Arc volts. It will have enough OCV with a choke and filament heater. Cause that what basically what rapid start is in USA. Here american F30 and F40 rapid start ballast only reason it T12 only. Since it
A autotransformer ballast that it raise 120 volt about 180 to 200 volt ocv single lamp operation. Just heat cathode until
Lamp stikes up and cathode heater still runs with the lamp
T8 just dont strike up very well due higher OCV. Due to vast
Amount of T12 rapid start here is only reason it kept T12 production.
