New living room lighting installation

Currently chopping in sockets & switches in my living room which I'm renovating. Here's what will be the light switch, two gang and 2x 25mm oval conduit drops for many cables!

The lighting setup will be: 3x GLS lamped wall lights on a standard rotary dimmer, and also 2x individually switched 40w circular fluorescent ceiling lights, one at each end of the room. I'd like the circulars dimmable too, unsure what the best method is but I'm thinking HF & switch dim. Could use magnetic dimmable I suppose but our bedroom is above and as it's exceptionally quite around here, would probably hear the buzzing.

While it looks all neat and tidy when finished, I don't envy you chopping walls out like this, I got very lazy in our house, and started surface mounting boxes with trunking stuck to the walls LOL Wink

Naaaa make them mag I doubt you will get the cool end banding from switch dim HF! You could always try magnetic dimming and if no good then go HF?

@Kev, I'm now wondering if T9 circular lamps even strike on the starterless dimming gear? @AngryHorse, I bought a wall chaser for doing the drops, boxes are pretty easy, can do one in about 5 minutes now. Once this is all done however, I don't want to do it again! Glad I'm an industrial spark, couldn't imagine doing this every day

Oh, my favorite part of house bashing that, chasing out walls. Second only to crawling through insulation-filled and sometimes mouse / rat infested lofts. This is why I try and avoid domestic work at all costs, much happier with the commercial side of the job. Sadly sometimes I don't have a choice. If I push the loft hatch up and find deep insulation, I'll just walk away and turn the job down. Not dealing with that shit. As for the chasing, I usually get a colleague to do that (the joys of being the boss) but sometimes you have to do it Sad
