Holophane Widerlite lit.
A recent purchase welcomes this unusual and rare Holophane Widerlite to the collection. Running a 80w MBF lamp, it features the unusual and rare Circulume ballast, rated at 235v. Originally upon getting it home, it was fitted with a standard two pin BC cap, so the bulkhead likely hasn't seen a MBF lamp in decades. Testing the ballast with a 200w GLS lamp revealed that it was still a good working ballast. Fitting a 3 pin MBF lamp holder and lamp restored the bulkhead back to its original working state. Running, the ballast has a noticeable buzz to it, but its nothing really.
My next plans now are to restore the bulkhead back to a hammered silver finish, and a gloss white interior. It'll more than likely be installed on my new shed.

Love these. There's a cable tunnel fully lit with these at work, most of them with dim & greened out lamps, it's an interesting experience walking through there! I'll take a picture sometime
