Recently got this down, known this light since i was a child, its sat un used since december 1987 !!!!! and i can remember it working along with others on this site long ago in the distant past, its made by philips and its very well made, every bolt came straight undone which is amazing as its sat outside un touched for over 30 years, fitted new in the early 60's. they had philips gear boxes on the inside of the buildings, brackets look to have been fabricated by the enginnering workshops that were once on site when the orignal owners of this building had it. sadly someones shot the lamp with an air rifle, and looking at the corrosion inside the lamp, it looks like it was shot about 30 years ago ! after carfull washing i found the etch, its a MAZDA COLOURLUX 400w mercury, next photo shows the etch, can anyone date it, its code 39 on the lamp

sadly not, only had time to grind the pipe off close to the wall, was an in and out job and had to pay for it . building getting demolished sadly, such a waste of a lovely old building and part of our towns history

That’s a shame why are they demolishing it? Building some more houses so we can invite some more packis over? The building looks like it’s in good nick to be honest

it is i good condition, part of the old brewery , its been a business park since 1991, they closed it down due to lack of people using it, last used by the brewery in december 1987, still found old beer cans and a full bottle of 1981 tetleys beer above ceilings !

Shame someone shot the lamp out like, that I bet would've still been a worker. The lantern is a Philips HRB Area, and would date to the 60's, and would have come as either open or enclosed, yours being the former. An awesome and rare save.

I’m don’t reckon it was shot tbh... I’ve shot lamps (before I knew any better lol) and they usually shattered into a million piceces instead of just out a small hole in...

Hello lampy. That could be a PHILIPS HRB 42 G/06 (for 1" pipe connection) or a PHILIPS HRB 42 G/05 (for 3/4" pipe connection) for mv lamp 250W / 400W.
