Atlas Atlantic Mk.1 4ft "refurbished"

I put this into use recently in the man shed after a thorough refurbishment! Painted the cover and lacquered the spine to keep the ~60 year patina as-is. Also removed thr PFC cap as it was starting to leak PCB oil.

i'm actually liking keeping the rusty look of very old fittings, it just makes them look old, and have character, blasting them and re painting it nice, but you also loose that old weatherd feel to them

Many thanks, I think i like the look too (wasn't sure at first). If I had some reflector tubes to use I wouldn't have painted the cover either.

Fortunately this roof is only fibre cement, as this garage is coming down next year hopefully, provided the plans for man cave 2.0 'xxxl edition' happen

i like the look of old 1950's asbestos clad buildings, they have a certain look to them, people worry about the sheeting, but its the least harmfull type of asbestos product made, its perfectly safe unless you start breaking it up and breathing in the dust which isnt going to happen

This doesn't seem to be particularly enjoying being put back into regular use after being dormant for so many years! The ballast is starting to get annoyingly loud Confused
