A big pile of junk?

I noticed these 30 fittings in the workshop at work so thought I'd take a closer look at them before they get installed to see what makes them tick.
First impressions are not great, the casing is made from thin plastic with no glass fibre reinforcement however there is a bit of extra moulding to add strength and they are also very light weight. The metal clips seem quite sturdy and maybe a bit pointless, seeing as they're only likely to get opened & closed a couple of times throughout the fittings life!
A quick look on the NVC website confirms these are rated to last 50,000 hours in an ambient temperature of 25 degrees C. I know where these are going and the ambient temperature is probably somewhere around there in winter, much higher in the summer so it'll be interesting to see how long they last.

Edit: fuck me these LED weatherpacks cost £55 each!
How long they'll last though, we shall see...
