Philips 4' 40w Cool White Supreme

A Philips 40w T12 "Cool White Supreme" lamp .. pretty much the newest generation of 'cool white'
For 'alto' and modern lamps these seem decent (to really say though it'd take time!)

Picked up a partial case(2 missing, so 8 lamps) of these a week or so ago on clearance for $10...didn't seem too bad of a price.

No good price there! A lot of the other US members hate the alto lamps for some reason? Are they really that bad?

@Kev: It really varies with the Alto's, some are good and can easily do 10+ years of daily use. Others have a tendency to go mercury starved well before their lifespan is up.

Well these full wattage alto 4 footer and under is not bad to use. How ever i have a philips 110 watt in my 8 foot pop pack gone mercury starved in about 2 years in 8 hours a day service bright side they sold in pack of two at Home Depot, At momemt I have a spare leaning up the corner of the room. GE lamps is the best but u have to change the endcaps out to Bipin witch is pita to do.
