I’ve seen some night shots and it looks like they use SON to illuminate the cliff faces.
At one point most of the lighting was SON, but there's some MH (and probably LED) now. I need to make a trip there sometime before winter, its not all that far from me.
You do get a good view of the city...I probably even have a pic, will have to look
I've actually wondered if I can see my place from there during Christmas Season at night If I stand on the roof & its a clear day, I can see the red rocks sticking up...

Motorbike would probably be a good way to go up Pike's peak.
I kinda remember that when I was young my family took the car up there.
