Just to add to this He added the cap to reduce current as unlike normal magnetic gear since this is a leading capacitor and magnetic setup the Rise in frequency actually drove up the current (the tube was at like 1.2A something silly like that) so he used a low value cap to drop the current to a more reasonable 800-900Ma. basically what im saying is in the UK if you use 110W HO tubes you should not need to do any modifications to your 8ft light
