The T8 Advance instant-start is a very typical ballast Laughing
This one being T12 and 8' isn't as common.

I can't imagine it's very gentle on the lamps with only a single connection to each end.

These are made where lamps runs long hours in shops 8 to 24 hours. These do badly in short switched application such as PIR sensor then it really munch lamps. So danny each time u fire up those slimelines run them for long hours
