Thorn Green 5ft 65/80w
I hunted down a shop back in 1990 that sold coloured fluorescent tubes. It was a case of looking up in the yellow pages and getting on the phone then, the internet existed but was not to be widely until a few years later. This tube is of 1989 manufacture, I bought it specifically for this GEC fitting, there was no way I could appreciate how valuable they would both become to me back then as a 16 year old just out of school.

Looks a bright one that! Yeah these are certainly rather valuable these days!

I really wanted blue at the time but they were out of stock. Just glad I held onto them through my funny 'lighting isn't that cool and I can have more fun without it in my life' phases.

I have those phases too. Getting them more than ever especially as I'm wanting to settle down but yeah try and hold on to these beauties

I think most of us have, there are definitely times where I am more interested in lighting than others but it has never completely gone. I have got rid of things and regretted it. As I have got older I have decided others will have to accept my hobby as part of me.

Yeah. I've always said if I met anyone I'd keep my collection but store it in the loft and stuff. I'd get 90% of it up there just the tubes 5' & above I'd struggle with

Before you think about `wanting to settle down` Dan, always remember, "single guys know more about woman than married ones", .............because they don`t have one! Laughing Laughing Razz

Lovely! Wish I owned a set of coloured tubes, I don't even have a single one Sad

Update - just ordered a set of Narva Colourlux 58w in red, yellow, green, pink, violet & blue. Well, why not?
FrontSideBus   [06 Aug, 2017 at 02:33 PM]
Hopefully the reds will be red and not pink.

Awesome find! just gotta love green fluorescents

@Slyspark:
Nice! I wish Narva was available here..I'd be tempted to do the same but in 4' 40w

Xmaslightguy, at least we have those industrail coloured tubes. It just about last of coloured T12 here in the States.
Slyspark   [07 Aug, 2017 at 12:57 AM]
Narva isn't really available here now either, they went bust Sad This is just some leftover stock that a lamp company still has in the shelf. Sadly they're T8, cos I can't find coloured T12 anywhere, but given how fast LED is taking over, figured I should get something before you can't get coloured fluorescent at all.
