New GE 8w T5 Dead after only 1 week!
This was the tube I was using over my record deck in a Fitzgerald mini light pack. I got this tube as part of an order from CP lighting and switch it on to be greeted with orange glowing flickering cathodes! Has only done a few hours, no more than 10!

Both glowing orange? I suspect its contaminated, the brown ring an the very end of the tube proves this. if you have an electronic ballasted fitting, try it in that.

Doesn't work on electronic ballasts either. Has an open circuit cathode now.

I'd complain to cp tbh. It's possible it had a slow air leak

I agree dan

It's certainly worth a try, I am a regular customer of theirs and for that matter order the lighting for work from them also. No doubt they will try and say that I have abused it in some way. I did find a spare one I didn't realise I had in 2700K which is something.

Smash it and say it arrived broke

Sound like it leaked. I'd certainly complain, and do as Danny says if they need a photograph!
